KRTU to Increase Broadcast Signal by 2017
In early 2017, KRTU will be broadcasting at 30,000 watts, a significant increase from its current HD terrestrial signal strength of 8,900!

The KRTU Tower Initiative was announced on Saturday, January 23, 2016, on the 40th anniversary of the very first KRTU broadcast in 1976.

KRTU currently reaches 35,000+ listeners each week via its terrestrial radio signal, in addition to listeners tuning in online from all over the country and world. The KRTU Tower Initiative will increase KRTU's 91.7 FM terrestrial signal reach from 549 square miles to 3059 square miles - an increase of over 450%, and will be available to more than 1.8 million San Antonians.
