A Promenade Through The Park

The Brackenridge Park Conservancy and media sponsor KRTU 91.7 FM present A Promenade Through The Park, a socially distanced driving excursion through Brackenridge Park.

 

The event will begin in the parking lot of the Tuesday Musical Club, located at 3755 St. Mary’s, and head up towards the scenic trail of Alpine Drive and down through the famous Low Water Crossing, both of which are no longer open to the public.

 

The Dirty River Jazz Band will entertain guests throughout the car lines when they arrive to pick up their upscale, pre-packaged gourmet picnic to take home and dine at their leisure.
 

As part of the Promenade, guests will be able to experience a historic drive down Alpine Drive, which was a point of interest in the early part of San Antonio history. It served as a scenic road on a cliff, which was laid on top of an old rock quarry overlooking the park.  Participants are also invited to promenade through historic markers of the park, enjoying its sights and sounds, reflecting on the importance of Brackenridge Park to the community. 

Tickets are $350, consisting of two meals prepared by the RK Group, per couple. Proceeds benefit the work of the Brackenridge Park Conservancy to revitalize the 120-year-old historic Park.
