A Year to Remember at KRTU!
During this season of reflection, we are so grateful to share the amazing milestones achieved this year with the power of community support!

These are just some of the reasons why 2017 has proven to be one of the most exciting years for growth at KRTU:

  • In April, KRTU launched its stronger broadcast signal at 30,000 watts, and has since DOUBLED its listenership! Read more...
  • The station also doubled its vinyl library thanks to an extraordinary donation from Jack DeWied of his personal collection.
  • “Music for Independent Listeners” was inaugurated as KRTU’s new tagline to help introduce first-time listeners to our one-of-a-kind station. Read more...
  • record-breaking $115,000 in gifts has been received since the beginning of our fiscal year on June 1st (and, of course, we were able to end the Fall Membership Drive three days early due to such strong response)!
  • KRTU just released a newly re-designed Underwriting Brochure!

We are so honored to receive such strong support from the KRTU students, on-air Hosts, listeners, KRTU Members, our partner businesses and organizations, and Trinity University.

It is with this happiness that we also reflect on the loss of some very special individuals who made tremendous contributions toward KRTU and the San Antonio community: In March, San Antonio lost accomplished musician, community activist and professor Mariana Ornelas, and in August we said goodbye to a passionate jazz lover and supporter of the arts, Rande Spector

As KRTU strengthens as a mission-driven, music-focused radio station, we are excited for a 2018 filled with exceptional on-air programming and opportunities to introduce jazz to more listeners than ever.

Very best wishes for a joyous holiday with family and friends.
