KRTU welcomes new Director of Development, Julie Ledet!

Hailing from the home state of Jazz (Louisiana), Julie joins the KRTU team from the McNay Art Museum where she most recently served as the Sr. Manager of Member and Visitor Experience. Prior to her time at the McNay, Julie was the Digital Media Coordinator at the Witte Museum where she helped market and promote partnered events like KRTU’s long-standing Sunday Jazz at the Witte!

With nearly ten years of marketing and development experience, Julie is very familiar with fundraising and membership programs. At KRTU, she will manage and direct all aspects of station fundraising including donor events and marketing.

Julie is a 2007 graduate of Nicholls State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Studio Art, Photography, and Humanities. In 2012, she completed her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Julie is a San Antonio-based artist and her work has been included in the New Orleans Museum of Art's Katrina Memorial Photography Collection, dArt International in Toronto, and the Laredo Center for the Arts.

“Over the last five years or so, I’ve worked with Julie on various community projects, including work at the McNay. I have always appreciated the time, care, and attention that she applied to events – she was always calm, cool, and very collected. I’m very happy to welcome Julie to KRTU, and I know our membership program will grow under her leadership.” JJ Lopez, General Manager of KRTU.

When not making art or promoting KRTU, Julie loves to discover new food joints. Being from South Louisiana, she believes that the best conversations happen when hovered over a full plate. She also loves experiencing live music and hanging out with her partner and their animal companions -- Bitty, Buddy, Scruffy, and Clover.

KRTU is a leader in commercial-free, listener-supported radio specializing in diverse music programming that is locally-curated and showcases regional musicians, with a focus on community outreach and education.
