KRTU Receives $25,000 Gift from Santikos Foundation
KRTU Radio Station

On December 14, KRTU was notified of a $25,000 grant from the John L. Santikos Charitable Foundation, a fund of the San Antonio Area Foundation. We are truly honored to be the recipient of this extraordinary gift, honoring the legacy of local cinema businessman and real estate entrepreneur John L. Santikos.

This gift will allow KRTU 91.7 FM to continue its growth and delivery of high quality jazz programming, radio education, and community outreach.

As Katherine C. Luber, PhD, The Kelso Director of the San Antonio Museum of Art articulated, “John Santikos' name endures as one that is synonymous with art, culture and community." KRTU is grateful that the San Antonio Area Foundation has chosen the station to be part of Mr. Santikos' legacy and vision.

The San Antonio Area Foundation is San Antonio's community foundation. The Area Foundation makes grants from funds established by individuals, families, businesses or other entities to support charitable causes. They are a collaborative leader, investing in the future of our community by coordinating resources and bringing people and organizations together to address key community issues. The Area Foundation manages nearly $280 million in assets and has distributed more than $260 million for scholarships and grants to educate youth, preserve the environment, protect animals, fund research and provide services that enhance the quality of live in our region.
