Join KRTU for a July 4th Celebration with Louis Armstrong

Louis Armstrong declared that his birthday was July 4, 1900. For your Independence Day, Jazz 91.7 FM KRTU dives into his monumental discography with an all-day broadcast of music from the New Orleans-born trumpeter, bandleader, vocalist, composer, poet, performer, and ambassador of jazz. 

We'll hear from early 1920's recordings to the final recording date in 1970, with special segments of rare 1930's dates, Lil Hardin Armstrong, the All-Stars of the 1950's, an interview with Armstrong scholar and San Antonio-based bandleader Jim Cullum, and live concert performances from around the world.
