April is Jazz Appreciation Month, culminating with
International Jazz Day on April 30, 2020. On KRTU, you will hear all new music for Jazz Appreciation Month on the Jazz Break at Noon.

Although we recognize and honor jazz daily on KRTU, it's a time to look toward the future of the music and listen to innovative sounds from current recording artists and their unique creations in jazz and improvised music. Whether the music's coming from overseas or right here at home, KRTU presents exclusive previews and new releases for the month of April on the Jazz Break at Noon.

We'll hear from a wide range of recordings on labels we've come to recognize like Blue Note, Impulse, and Nonesuch to smaller independents Sunnyside, Origin, and Intakt. From legendary composers and instrumentalists, global masters, and rising stars, our programming will cover immense stylistic ground with music from Shabaka & the Ancestors, Kandace Springs, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Wolfgang Muthspiel with Brian Blade, Amina Figarova, James Brandon Lewis, Kurt Elling, Sam Gendel, Lynne Arriale, and many other emerging artists.

KRTU is a leader in commercial-free, listener-supported radio specializing in diverse music programming that is locally-curated and showcases regional musicians, with a focus on community outreach and education.
